Overview types of lifting slings

In any industry, whenever lifting work is to be performed, a type of lifting sling, used with a hoist, is required to perform a lifting operation. They attach loads to lifting devices and come in different forms. Specific slings are considered appropriate for lifting specific types of loads.

Types of lifting slings commonly used in a variety of industries include unidirectional disposable slings, slings, fiber rope slings, chain, round, and wire rope slings.     

Single-use disposable slings are typically used to lift an object and load it into a vehicle. The slings are discarded once the object is removed from the vehicle and sent to the destination.

Flat slings are usually made of nylon and reinforced polyester, but they are a better choice because they are not only resistant to certain acidic substances, they also have less elasticity compared to their nylon counterparts. Web slings are characterized by their flexibility and flexibility, as well as their ability to absorb a certain level of shock load.

Web slings have a large loading area and can be supplemented with additional protective sleeves to provide better protection for sections subject to heavy wear. In addition, it is very easy to detect scars or signs of tearing in canvas slings.      

Fiber rope slings are used to lift heavy loads. They are generally made of natural or artificial ropes that can be equipped with different types of end fittings to meet specific needs.

The chain slings are distinguished by their versatility and come in different lengths, lifting capacities and link sizes. Notably, chain slings can be combined in different sling arrangements.     

 Wire rope slings are recognized for their strength and come in different forms. This is why it is important to exercise caution when choosing the right type of sling for proper application.

Wire rope slings are available in one- or multi-legged versions and consist of several strands that have a better ability to absorb shock loads.

The round slings have a fiber core that remains protected by a tubular sleeve. They are generally used to lift delicate objects.      

When choosing a lifting sling, you must consider a number of factors, including the type of load, weight, lifting frequency, and type of lifting motion required by a job.
